June/July 2023 Island Trip – Day 3
I slayed a batch of errands this morning including taking 6-pieces of stove pipe to the Island Asset Reallocation Emporium. It’s essentially a place you can take stuff you don’t want, and they sell it for cheap. Some of this pipe was, in its day, very high tech fancy stuff. None of it can be used in the barns’ stove’s refurbs, so out it goes. The other thing that felt good was taking a nice lens that my new camera body won’t play with to a contact, who knew my dad, for the local arts center. That’s seven things gone!
Once back I finished the necessary mowing. It took 3-hours. Lunch and a shower were a nice break. I then finished going through all the bins of stuff (there were more than three) I wasn’t ready to let go of when packing up the house, and found there were some things I can let go of! And some I want to actually keep, like now. The rest went back into the bins on shelves in the pump room to be looked at again another day.
I washed the bird poop off the truck windshield before picking up my DH from the ferry… He has a thing about filthy windshields that quips about country living cannot overcome 😂. We had a very nice dinner with our tenants, caught up over backgammon and are both seriously tired. G’nite toots!
