June/July 2023 Island Trip – Day 5
My DH hunted and gathered after a late breakfast. Town was incredibly busy, being July 3rd in a tourist town. While he was gone I kept working on pricing for the estate sale. It’s well more than half done. My tenant and I pruned back fir branches from the west side of dad’s garden so they could then finish installing the deer fencing along that side. The fencing install happened late afternoon.
My DH also tuned up the ‘deer waterer’ in the perennial garden, and with lumber purchased this morning, created a set of ramps for the truck so I don’t have to haul the pair we have on the mainland back and forth. Toward the end of the afternoon, I returned to weeding Stella;s slope while my DH juggled.
At six we gathered our neighbor to the east and went to Tim’s for dinner. His son was there for a visit and the five of us had a very companionable dinner and broad-ranging conversation.
The day wasn’t quite as driven as they’ve been to date, and that felt good.
