Turn Around Island:Beach

Monday’s exit from the Island was, as usual, unremarkable. What was a tad intense was getting back to the mainland, unpacking all the things, doing laundry, repacking all the relevant things, watering chickens, plants, and the cat, and heading out less than 24-hours later.

Of the four errands I ran before heading south, one was to take four towels to our veterinarian. They use them during client exams. One of the towels I gave them was a road rescue. My dad stopped to pick it up more than 15-years ago on a road on the Island. He gave it to us. We used it for years, and when we bought and outfitted Stella, it was only natural that dad’s road kill towel 😂 should return to the Island. All this because we’ve replace the trailer towels with modern, fast drying, low profile towels… the storage gain in remarkable! I think dad would dig this towel’s next destination.

The drive to the coast had its moments of WTF, watching other drivers. Those who I think, ‘You had better be in late labor to be driving like that.’ Four hours on the road are bound to be entertaining!

The late afternoon and evening at the beach was a homecoming. We were eleven this evening, and the numbers are growing, including one of my children and their family by the end of the week. I have known some of these folks for 54-years.
