Sept/Oct Island trip – Days 10 & 11

The biggest news yesterday was that my MIL fell on a walk at one of the Island parks and had to go to the ER. She had a scalp wound and was dehydrated. She had purposely not hydrated in order to minimized bathroom breaks on the trail… She’s OK with her would super-glued together, and no additional damage done. She was discharged tired and hungry. We are thankful her sister and brother-in-law were with her.

Today my DH arrived. We spent a lot of time sorting the barns. Now that the tenants aren’t going to rent the upper barn (insurance isn’t going to pan out, and the improvements they want to make, and would pay for, would cost a prohibitive amount of money on top of there being no contractors readily available), it’s going be a shop again, and house the ladders, gardening equipment and the like. The lower barn will be studio space. Just like it was when dad was alive.

We had a date night at our fav small restaurant, and then stayed up entirely too late catching up over backgammon. It was a good day.
