Sept/Oct 2023 Island Trip – Day 14 (a little late)

As always (may is ever remain so) we managed to gather, clean, close, winterize, lock up, turn off, and head to ferry with little excitement. We texted my DH newly texting aunt, hoping to meet the elders for lunch, but didn’t hear back.

They still had two full days on the Island, and indeed had a great time!

We had our fav cod tacos, and wandered to the book store where I bought puzzles and my DH picked up a book.

The ferry was trying to unload a huge half of a ‘prefab’ house. Things were exciting as they announced, repeatedly, for the owner of an SUV to move their vehicle from (legal) parking so the truck and prefab could get off the boat. A crowd started to gather. The owner of the SUV never showed, and the truck made it around the SUV by inches. We all erupted into cheers!

Half a house! Unscathed SUV to the left. Notice the teeny bulldozer behind the cab of the truck!
The door on this building is likely 36” wide. The five tires on the trailer looked over exercised. It was an impressive feat getting the building off the boat, around the corner and up the hill.

I am still recovering from what we think were the usually gluten-free cod tacos not being gluten free. And yesterday I had the double jab… Latest Covid vaccine and a flu shot. Dang. I’m having a good immune response! So the week has been slow. Feeling a little mo’ better with it each day.
