November 2023 Island Trip – Day 6

Prior to our friend leaving, we hung out, had a great breakfast (banana pancakes with bourbon maple syrup, sausage, and tea), kept talking, watched some football, and got mom’s bookcase in the back of the truck. This required shrink wrapping it, getting into the truck, adding a tarp and tying it down. The truck’s bed is parked under the overhang of the lower barn, out of the weather. There was no way we could have done this without Dan.

Since Dan headed out, to a canceled ferry, we replaced the kitchen sink light in the house, and figured out why Stella’s stove light stopped working. A broken bulb, the sort of which I’ve never seen. The bulbs housing looks particularly toasted. We’re thinking a battery operated LED rope-light solution will give more light, be more accessible, and safer.

This light was our first try for our new kitchen island at our mainland home. It was way too sensitive to sharing a circuit despite its low draw due to its built in LED, which flickered. This kitchen has a ridiculous number of circuits. Hopefully this light will be happy here. It’s quite the aesthetic upgrade.

We no ambitious aspirations for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
