New Year’s 2024 Island Trip – Day 1

We had an easy trip up. My DH dropped his car at the mainland ferry parking and joined me in the truck for the ride over.

The afternoon was easy, yet we got some good stuff done! We emptied the drier shed of all our belongings except for a vise, which my DH will remove tomorrow. We also replaced the two old-school hall track light heads in the house with six low profile LED units. They make a huge difference. I hosed the shower down with CLR in prep for my tile guy who is going to repair the grout. I’ll rinse the shower tomorrow.

We have a small stack of items that we’ll take to the local charity outfit (biggest ongoing garage sale I’ve ever seen!) tomorrow, including our aluminum cans. It’s worth the effort to separate the aluminum from the rest of the recycling… The local charity outfit takes aluminum cans for free. The dump charges you to drop them off 😏.

We hosted our neighbor from the east for dinner. It was so good to see her and catch up.
