Leak

We lost a pipe in on the Island. The one that feeds the faucet on the house exterior. A constellation of things probably caused it, because we did so much right to prevent it! I have the fridge turned off. The fridge snuggles up to the wall this pipe resides in. It takes a certain amount of heat to cool off an ice box. Despite the house being warm (61º), no one is living there, and a house will get up to no good when empty. Extreme cold doesn’t help. We had all the interior faucets dripping, heat pump on, auxiliary heaters at the interior pluming etc.

My AN, and who I will now call my GC (General Contractor) came to my recuse today. We were alerted to this problem yesterday when another treasured vendor checked in on the propane fireplace, and found water coming out of the side of the house. Everything pointed to the pipe feeding the external water faucet. And that’s what the guys discovered, after some siding surgery on the house.

Single digit temps are hard to contend with. I am thankful William contacted me upon finding the leak, and my AN turning off the water, and then working together with my GC to diagnose. My AN is hoping to replumb tomorrow. And… there are competing forecasts for impactful snowfall on the Island tomorrow. That’s OK. New tenants aren’t scheduled to be there until early next month, at last update. We’ll get this buttoned up by then.
