Deja vu…
I’m spending time doing the same things for my MIL that I did for my mom:
- Working the solicitation mail, meaning I’m using the same website to remove my MIL’s name from charities that she thinks are sending her bills. Some have to have the umbilicus cut via the charity’s own website, and others I call. And, yes, the one’s we know are really important to her, we leave be.
- I made the first of many dump runs yesterday.
- The first of many hazmat drop-offs happened today.
- Continuing talks with my MIL’s insurance agent are illuminating, and we have gotten to a good grounded place. There are interdependencies on policies that I didn’t know about: One needs to hold an auto policy in order to hold an (liability) umbrella! There is a solution via her home owner’s policy for additional liability coverage We are going to let things sit for the moment while we sweep up the crumbs and embers of the license suspension.
- Interfacing with her east coast family about exactly what they really want… Yes, they want the family violin, and the doll collection! But, no, absolutely not the pitcher collection. We’ll take care of shipping these items to them. Less things in the house makes for less confusion.
- I was able to gift about 700 plastic produce bags to two school nurses in my community that my MIL had stashed. This is a win!
