On a personal note…

After a weekend of doing far, far too much, my lower back threw me a curve ball Sunday night. I couldn’t walk for a spell. I have given birth three times, and surfed kidney stones. There is little that sends me around a bend in terms of pain. This did.

A dining room chair was my instant crutch. My DH asked me carefully is he needed to take me to the ER. I declined through clenched teeth. He fetched my mom’s cane from under the house. Long story short, three Advil and going to bed made for improvement overnight. Seeing my chiropractor the following morning revealed that my ‘ilium’ was outta whack. It was far north of where it belongs. She put this to rights, and I felt far more stable, and increasingly so for the rest of the day. Yes, lots of ice and rest…

Today has continued to be much better in the face of lots of walking on concrete sidewalks in two towns while my car was being attended to. That’s another story…

My plan is to go to the Island on Monday if my back continues to go in the right direction. A short 5-night trip. And to that end, our general contractor (GC) has agreed to take on a list of tasks that I should not do, and my DH would rather not do. The GC and I will meet next week. I am thankful that we can hand off some of these task to our GC. He’s smart, resourceful, and trustworthy.
