March 2024 Island Trip – Day 3

I stopped into the county assessors office to ask them to help me understand why the properties overall value, for tax purposes, increased 35%. The gal who helped me was extraordinarily thorough. Like, grad school level explanation of all the moving parts, many of which I didn’t know about. I left with their annual Statement of Assessment, which I am looking forward to soaking up. It brings out the geek in me.

I found my Akane apple trees and a filbert! The apples cost far less here than via the mail order catalog I’d sourced them through. All three threes are planted in the fenced garden. I also busted out the big mower and got the non-squishy areas of the property mowed. Not quite a third of what I usually keep trimmed up. It’s a start, and the rest will have to wait!
