March 2024 II Island Trip – Day 3
Many more hours, and much progress was made with our utility project, particularly after I rented a utility finder. We employed extra 12-gage wire, used to hook up the electrical fence to its energizer, fed it down Stella’s sewer pipe (with great difficulty) in order to discover the location of the sewer pipe in the field. While we were only able to get the wire about a third of the way down the pipe to where we needed to excavate, the setup gave us the trajectory we needed. Whew!
By 6PM the water line was joined to LJG’s frost proof stand pipe, but not installed. We had to join the stand pipe to the end of the waterline… Otherwise we’d not have had water in Stella tonight. Our AN smiled at us and called us spoiled 😂. The sewer line is coming along nicely. It’s “Y’d” into Stella’s line now and heading toward LJG’s site. The piece that connects the sewer pipe to the trailer will be in next week. S’ok!
Electrical ought to be the easiest part… Essentially turning a 220v outlet around in the upper barn. And yeah, upgrading the outlet.
If we get our rock delivery tomorrow, we’ll place LJG in her spot before we head back to the mainland. Finger’s crossed!
My DH worked his first full day from Stella. I mean his full-time job 😏. He works here all the time! We’re excited that we can be here together going forward 💜.
