March 2024 II Trip – Day 4

Today is the 11th anniversary of my dad’s passing. I’m glad I was here. One of the last things my AN and I did today was move a piece from the metal pile to in front of the house for the new tenants. They want to use this piece as a big planter. Our AN used his tractor, which made big (BIG) ruts in the field. We both shook our heads in disbelief that either of us let this happen. He said, “Your dad is laughing pretty hard right now! I can’t count the times I pulled him out of the mud!!” He brought the track hoe down and fixed things. 😏

The water is installed. The sewer is stubbed out and ready for the piece that will connect the LJG’s black/grey tanks to the newly installed sewer run. The gravel pad for LJG is installed. We strategized about exactly how to move her into place. I think our AN is going to do that… He is a very good backer upper. I am an OK backer upper 😂.

Tomorrow our AN will bring over a compactor for the trailer pad, move the trailer, and use the remaining gravel to tune up the driveway, When all this is done, I’ll use a landscape rake to smooth things out, and then seed the area with grass seed. Meanwhile, there’s less to mow!

We took our neighbor to the east out for dinner to, collective, our fav restaurant this evening. It was delightful to spend some time visiting and relaxing.
