Trailer Insurance
Our Island insurance agent has found some vastly improved coverage for our little fleet of vintage trailers! Details are still settling out, but after answering the myriad of questions, it looks like the Island trailers could be under one policy that will cover them for ‘replacement cost,’ including contents. So much better than what our current coverage is able to provide. This means we’ll have to do an exacting (exhausting 😏) inventory of contents and improvements. Can do.
Our wee Airstream that lives here with us on the mainland can be covered under a different policy, for our stated value, but no content coverage. I confirmed with our mainland insurance agent today that even if they don’t cover the trailer, our homeowner’s policy does cover this trailer’s contents. We have a lot of inventory and photos to take.
Our Island agent made me smile as she told about her underwriter’s swooning about the trailers 💕.
The bottom financial line is that our auto/home owners, umbrella insurance company is only willing to cover the trailer for their Original MRRP!!! Not nearly enough should there be a loss. We’re on the right track for real coverage!
