Compliance or Relief?

MIL was perfect today. She was accepting, in good humor meeting staff at the community, enjoyed dinner, was engaged while seeing the apartment, and even rolled with the idea of moving on Friday. We are thankful, to say the least.

I’m so used to my MIL objecting to things just to object (with me at least 😂), that her rolling with the program has me scratching my head a little. We keep using the word ‘compliant’ to describe her. She was very compliant today. I have to wonder, as suggested by a family friend late last week, if she’s relieved. Relieved to be out from under maintaining (or attempting to maintain), cleaning and living alone in a big house with a waning memory. I know being closer to us pleases her. Either way, today was a win.
