MIL Update

All is going pretty good with my MIL. It is a stark contrast, in the positive direction, when thinking about my mom’s first few days in assisted living! MIL doesn’t talk about returning home, she’s gone on her first community outing (Whole Foods), had lunch with other residents yesterday, and independently made her way downstairs for coffee a couple of days ago! My DH has hung up most of her art and spent lots and lots of time with her.

On Sunday we went to MIL’s house to pick up a few things for her, advance some initial projects, and wrap our heads around the best way to move forward with repairs/contractors and emptying the house. We’ve decided that we can hold a ‘moving’ sale at the house. At first I was concerned about the lack of parking on the property, but I’ve noticed cars parked up and down the (busy) road. This will save a lot of work shlepping things about.

But now it’s time for a break. I’m headed to the Island in a few minutes. Mowing and painting feature large in the coming week!
