May/June 2024 Island Trip – Day 3
Ima keep this short because I’m tired and it’s late.
I mowed and mowed and mowed. Then used a pitch fork to move (very prickly) hawthorn carcasses, that the tenant slayed for me, out of the way, and mowed some more. And then more and more. Like, maybe for more than four hours.
The apple trees are cleared of grass so I can easily get to them with insecticidal soap and then BT. That’s #1 tomorrow.
On my way to Tim’s for dinner, I bought more gas for the mower, returned a package of spline to the hardware store, looked for a book that could decipher crochet terms (failed) for a pattern for potholders that my tenant’s MIL sent me (!*), and found Copper River salmon for our dinner.
Dinner was great, and the company better. Tim, at 85, is struggling with mobility more now than ever. I cooked and he regaled me with various stories. All entertaining or thought provoking. He is a treasure in our lives.
* Our tenant’s MIL makes these amazing potholders. The tenant gave me four of them. After using them, I gushed over how wonderful they were and that I was going to find the pattern online… She obviously told her MIL… who sent the pattern in prose. I don’t speak’ crochet! 😂 I can follow instructions, but the abbreviations are Greek to me. YouTube will get me there 😏.
G’nite 🥱.
