Work at MIL’s
I spent that last three days at my MIL’s. The roof is now clean, and the dryer is operating safely, even tho it blows the majority of its lint out of the stack. the dryer vent guy also took a look at the stovetop vent. MIL has it in her head that the microwave shouldn’t be used because its vent is blocked… Yes, the stovetop vent is part of the microwave. The tech watched as I placed a piece of paper on each half of the vent. Then we went outside where it all supposedly vented and were greeted by a foundation wall. He said that he could hear the vent, combined with the clear evidence of paper stuck to the interior unit meant that it was working fine. And that microwaves do not have exterior vents… The micro has been used for the last three days and works fine.
I also put the car’s fuses back, but she refused to start. The AAA guy got it going and suggested I take it to the body shop, and not turn the car off. He gave me a mini car electricity lesson. I used a high pressure hose to get the mud and gravel out of the right side brakes, and drove it over. The adjuster thinks the car is totaled. She laughed when I gave her a high-five. I explained that having the insurance company make the car go away saves us the trouble of selling it. She got it.
My MIL’s bedroom and bathroom are empty, her office continues in the right direction, my late-FIL’s office is also coming along nicely, and the downstairs bathroom is essentially empty. This is particularly important as its shower drain is resistant to repeated doses of Drano… A plumber will be able get in there now. Today, as well as spending a lot of time on books and starting to assess the kitchen, we also started staging the main level of the house for a future ‘moving sale.’
My feet are tired/sore. This is an alien sensation.
