July 2024 Island Trip – Day 2

It was another toasty day. The cat was introduced to LJG and was not pleased. He’s been spoofing us with his nose to Stella’s screen door… Into the harness he went this morning. Leash attached, and he cowered. I picked him up to carry him less than 100’ to LJG, and have two minor punctures of displeasure in my shoulder. Sigh. We’ll try again! He did spend a chunk of the day with my DH.

I got quite a lot done, including making plans with friends and contractors:

• Tuesday – Pest company comes to look at invading yellow striped fliers making their way into the soffit of the house. Tim for dinner. A run to town.
• Wednesday – Friends for drinks.
• Thursday – General contractor to get started on prep for painting house!!! Also to assess oldest remaining part of deck for replacement.
• Thurs or Fri – Dinner with neighbor to the east.

I got another swath of mowing done. The trick, at least in this heat, is to wait until after 3PM and then keep it to no more than two hours.

I’m gonna prime the lower barn ceiling on Wednesday. This post is starting to feel like my calendar! 😂
