Ankle Update
I am pleased to report that 5-days, 120-hours, after the ‘Twang’ that shifted my mobility, I can walk without any assistive devices. That being said, I am being Very careful. Walking involves a limp to protect what feels like solid (haha) instability. Ice and doing very little is still my MO. I don’t want to go backwards. I have appointments with the podiatrist and PT early next month.
Today I ran some errands in the truck, which I can drive with my left foot. I also took the ‘boot’ with me and changed into it when it was time to traverse Trader Joe’s. I was delighted that they had a ‘sports car cart’ that I could drive. I managed to get through the store without backing up (BEEP, BEEP, BEEP), or running anyone over. The nice and funny cashier helped me get the groceries to the truck, and even let me drive the cart in the parking lot! 😏
Tomorrow I continue to, gently and slowly, work on getting us ready to go to the coast on Friday. Like, doing the things that don’t require lots of back and forth… That’s up to my DH.
