Ankle & MIL’s
My ankle is still going in the right direction, and I’m also being incredibly careful. It’s like practicing to be a little old lady… 🤣
On Thursday we (me, DH, daughter & grandson) loaded out all the packed boxes and some of the remaining furniture from my MIL’s. Our grandson was charged with making sure his grandpa didn’t over-work himself… He was on Grandpa: “Let’s GO Grandpa!” 😂 He also drove the emptied hand truck perfectly, and checked in with all of us: “Mommy, are you doing alright?” He lightened the day. My daughter’s participation made everything possible. I am allowed to pack the (2-dozen) boxes of books, but not allowed to pick them up… She was a powerhouse both at the house and when we loaded everything into MIL’s storage unit, and filled both green cans with detritus from the back yard 💕.
To see my MIL’s office empty is a trip. Tomorrow my DH and I return for the remaining furniture, and to continue on the ever morphing list of things to be done, including sorting a larger-than-we-knew collection of lumber and brick, an external closet of camping supplies, another pass on the workshop, and finding the phone company’s router. The house will be empty of everything except items we’re selling. We may open a bottle of champagne tomorrow evening!
