Full-Tilt Boogie
This is a phrase my dad used to use to describe relentless time, good or bad. July and August have been ‘Full-tilt boogie.’
Recap: Island July 7- 18, 29- 31. MIL’s July 4 & 25, August 2, 15, 17, 19. Coast camping & reunion August 9-13.
I go back to MIL’s tomorrow, making it 3 of the last six days. This visit, just me, will be about pricing, loading the truck with items we found Saturday that need to go to the dump, and grooming the front landscape a little. Basically, I spent time removing dead wood from shrubs between the walk to the front door and the house. It needs to be raked up, tidied. I’m not going to pressure wash this time. Something’s gotta give!
Before heading to MIL’s tomorrow, I get up early to try and change my early ferry reservation for Thursday: 6:15AM, which would mean leaving here at 4:15AM, getting up at 3:15AM. Um, no way. So, if I can’t snag a later res, I’ll be staying in a motel near the ferry Wednesday night. Merely getting up at 5AM 🙄. Yeah, so I don’t know when I’m heading north, or how much I’ll have to squish in between tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. First world problems, but they’re mine…
Once on the island, the goal is to paint the house, replace the south siding on the drier shed (it’s only 65-years old and the swallows have figured out how to nest in the wall…), and celebrate our anniversary! Yes, I will try to balance things… And I think I’ll call our GC and see if he can help with the siding installation…
Is there any R&R in September?? The moving sale is scheduled for the first weekend. A too short camping trip is scheduled the second weekend. I may rearrange a couple of appointment the third week of September so I can camp for a little longer 😏.
It’s all good, just a little relentless.
