August 2024 Island Trip – Day 8

The house is now primed. It kinda kicked my butt because I’m compulse, and it’s done. If a monsoon rolls in, there’s no more bare thirsty wood to suck up water. Whew! My DH was my hero wielding the roller, which made my compulsiveness, I mean my job, much easier! He also removed the down spouts for ease of painting behind them, and secured some loose batons over the siding. Tomorrow I’ll at least paint the finish trim color on the area’s where the downspouts reside. Then my DH will reinstall the downspouts. While I want launch into painting all the trim, tomorrow is our last full day here, and there are other things we need and want to do.

We got a couple of loads of laundry done today. I know… Sounds incredibly dull and ordinary, yet having the ability to wash clothes here, in the lower barn, will never get old 😁.

Our neighbor to the east stopped by to bring us a couple of puzzles. We had a pleasant visit and made plans for dinner tomorrow. Her doggo came along, and while he didn’t come into the trailer, the cat was completely offended 🐈‍⬛. I sent him into the bedroom and closed the door. When the human’s relocated outside, the cat sat at the screen door with dagger eyes! He has since recovered his good humor.
