August 2024 Island Trip – Day 9

It was a good day, and went kinda like this:

• The corners of the house have their finish color on, and the downspouts are back up. I’ll finish cleaning the paint brushes tomorrow.
• My DH precisely loaded the truck with firewood. The bed is maxed out.
• We picked apples. Three full grocery bags. Not nearly what the harvest has been in years past, but maybe triple last year’s.
• I yanked out three tansy plants, and discovered one more on our way to dinner. These livestock killers have to be bagged and taken to the dump.
• The water ‘legos’ are topped off and restacked. This water is for use when the power is out (or the well runs dry 😏) to flush the loo.
• We deconstructed what used to be the drawer under Stella’s couch and it’s now under the couch protecting the converter wiring from the riffraff, I mean the cat 🐈‍⬛.
• Dinner plans changed as our neighbor to the east wasn’t feeling great this afternoon 😢.
• On our way to and from dinner we checked out a live music/arts show. I ran into a fellow that knew my dad and to whom I gave a bunch of darkroom equipment to. It was nice to catch up . He’s about to do some color film development with some equipment my dad gave him.
• We enjoyed the new sushi restaurant for dinner. It’s very popular, and very good.

We head back tomorrow.
