October 2024 Island Trip – Day 8
Another list of things done, people treasured:
- I want to move this property’s insurance coverage to the company that insures the rest of our property, vehicles, etc. We are currently stalled on the wood stoves in the barns. Today I filled out forms regarding the stoves, their positions in the buildings, make, models, etc. I’ll talk with our agent before submitting the forms/photos to him for underwriting’s consideration.
- I’ve got the wall heaters in the pump room tuned. Confirmed that they’re working, and then turned the thermostat down a click. Dang, I wish the thermostat was digital… Perhaps that can happen.
- I got to town and did a lot of Christmas shopping before, and after an actual, professional hair cut!!!
- We tuned up the smoke and CO detectors at the house. It turned out that we only had a CO detector in the second bedroom… My saving grace is that this room isn’t being used as a bedroom. All is legal now.
- I had a lovely visit with our AN and his wife. He continues to be in good form. His humor is delightfully intact. We turned him down on the ATV sales price. Too much for us, tho I’m sure it’s worth every penny. They updated me on where they were in their property selling journey. It’s difficult to walk out their door knowing we’re leaving the Island tomorrow.
Our exit tomorrow is feeling pretty smooth. Hoping for no work emergencies 😏 😂.
It’s raining. Nothing like the sound of rain on a trailer roof 💕.
