October 2024 Island Trip – Day 9

We are back at our Mainland home. Pulling out went optimally, right down to boxing up the cat. He knew something was up from the get-go this morning, and hung out in the cupboard on my DH’s side of the bed. While he expressed some anxiety as I carried him to his carrier, he went into it without any resistance. We like to think he’s getting used to the routine.

Observations about being on the Island… Spectacular night skies, rain lulling you to sleep on a metal roof, focusing only on what’s at hand, Island Time…

Observations about being on the Mainland… Unending hot water, rain on the skylights, room to stretch out in the house, primary gardens…
