New Year’s ‘24/‘25 – Days 3 & 4
The best thing about the last two days is we did almost nothing. One of my son-in-laws gave a little push back via phone today, “YOU did nothing?? come on!!” So I redrafted my statement and said, “I only did things I wanted to do!” This he took as truth 😏.
The one thing I did get done was to make a ‘skirt’ for the couch. It has earth magnets holding it up its three sections to the couch frame, is made of a fabric that doesn’t fight with the couch upholstery (which is kinda a miracle), and was easy to throw together. The purpose is to banish the cold air that streams in from under the couch now that the malfunctioning drawer that used to be under the couch is gone. It’s a shabby chic look not meant to be ‘tailored.’

We took a short trip to town today to ‘provision’ a few things. Why ‘provision?’ Because buying six things meant three stops!
We had a really nice evening with our neighbor to the east, and came home to… cat barf all over the sofa 🤮. Sigh. I’m going to see if either of the markets or the hardware store rent a carpet cleaner with an upholstery hose attachment. Yeah, we got the mess cleaned up as best as possible, but… If I can get some extraction on this, I will 🫤.
Tomorrow we work on getting the pump room window temporarily water proof. 🤞
