New Year’s ‘24/‘25 Day – 5
Two main things got done today…
The poor couch got cleaned. There is only one outfit that rents carpet cleaners here. It had an upholstery attachment, weighed 50-60 pounds, though it’s hard to judge, and was certainly industrial. Don’t put your nose in the couch… It still smells like cat food 🙄. Lots better, but ew. We’re leaving the couch in ‘bed-mode’ so it will dry. This makes the living area super awkward as neither of the tables can be deployed. We bring the spot bot next trip…

The pump room window is now sealed in place with foam insulation, my right index and middle finger too, and the door got a little help with drafts! The minute we got the gaps filled in, the room was still. It’s amazing what insulation does. We put heavy mil plastic over the window for good measure. I’ll be continuing to watch and adjust the temp in the pump room tomorrow before we leave. The big difference is we will no longer be heating the farm…

My DH populated his cool chest in the upper barn. I dropped off some Christmas goodies to our neighbors to the north. Some communication was accomplished. We enjoyed two art galleries this evening before a lovely dinner at our favorite little restaurant in town, where we ran into a classmate of mine, and one of my parents’ friend’s I’ve known for 45-years, and we were home before 8:30! Oh, and the cat behaved perfectly, digestively speaking 😏🐈⬛😂!

The best part of the being out this evening was it kept me from getting ready to leave tomorrow. I was, and still am, relaxed. We’ll start early with intention tomorrow, but tonight we chill.
