New Year’s ‘24/‘25 Day – 6
On top of the usual closing down routines, my DH spread four cart loads of gravel over mucky areas on the drive and took the last piece of 1” foam insulation and tucked it up under the heavy mil plastic covering the window in the pump room. It’s not pretty, but it’ll be warmer than it has been in years. And most importantly, I won’t worry about the pump room getting too cold 🙏.
The cat expressed his displeasure about being in the crate on the way home. At one point my DH said, “I hate the crate!” I came up with a rough marketing scheme for cat crate stickers in about 90-seconds… 😂 We let him out of his crate, but he just went from window to window continuing to complain. Finally, he consented to sit in my lap and relax. Once home, we opened the garage door, then the truck door, and he scooted into the house.
Last night we had sushi delivered (mainland living perks!). Tonight we harvested chard from the garden… The trip was too short in many respects, and it’s good to be here.
