March 2025 Island Trip – Day 0

Tomorrow morning, earlier than we’d ideally like, we head to the Island. I’ve gotten us to the point where we have to load and go. My DH is packing his clothes as I type. We have some swanky (roast veggies & chicken sausages) leftovers for dinner, and will watch an episode of our latest Netflix silliness (Six Feet Under).

The cat will remain home this trip with a house sitter we met via Rover.com. She is a delight. Kind, smart, and insightful. The cat will be insufferable when we return 😏, meaning she’ll be spoiling him. It did not feel it would be kindest thing to keep the cat cooped up in the trailer for 2 solid weeks. The house sitter, looked at the library(s), and then the cat, said, “Ooo, we will drink tea and read!” She works part-time as an RN.

My DH’s birthday happens while we’re there. I’ve made reservations at out fav wee restaurant for us and our neighbor to the east. 😁

Getting to the point where we can make this escape has taken a lot of work… I’m really looking forward to it. 💕
