March 2025 Island Trip – Day 6

The weather today was super hopeful! Sunny, warm for March. Mowing was in the offing!!! But I was out of gas for the mower, and when opening the gas tank on the mower, I saw nada… While the Husky gets amazing mileage, I didn’t want to start and then stop, abruptly. Off to town I went with the two gas tanks.

When in town do all the things. Got mower gas, got a few groceries, got a new ladder (shorter, stabler) and a longer extension for my paint roller.

On the way home I noticed a significant storm cloud. The rain flowing from it in the stance was visible. I headed home hoping this storm was heading in another direction. Nope.

It hailed here for 30-minutes along with thunder and lightening. Love me a good electrical storm, and this dashed any ideas of mowing 😏. Like a sign from God, “Do not mow this afternoon!”

I unloaded the truck, gawked at the hail, and took a nap.

I also got the drier shed siding’s finish coat done. I LOVE the color. Think Modern Barn Red. My mama would have Loved it 💕.

The paint isn’t quite dry, so not the final color, but close.

Sometimes the goal of a day here is not to go to town. And sometimes (no mower gas!) you have to flow with reality, and still not be able to mow 😏. It was a good day.
