Happy 90th, Mom.

My mom has been gone almost 5-years, and today would have been her 90th birthday. I found myself ‘consulting’ with her today as I micro-weeded along the back of the house. Not about weeding, but about other things that have been a trial the last few weeks. While she did not answer directly, I could hear what she might have said. It was comforting.

We’ve had gardening weather the last two days, and I’ve taken advantage. Our mainland property is large enough (.4 acres) that I’ve learned to work on what I want to, and not look at what doesn’t get done. If I keep at it, over time, it starts looking pretty good! The last two years have kept me from paying enough attention to this garden, and so I’m catching up. Sitting on the paths weeding with narrow focus gives me the delusion of control 😏, and also allow me to reminisce about my mama on her birthday 💜.
