June 2025 Island Trip – Day 6
Laundry featured big today. Three hoses have to be connected from the well’s pressure tank to the ‘lil washer to make this happen. Make sure each connection is Tight, and then, dang there is nothing better to end up with clean clothes to hang on the line when we’re here.
99% of the push mowing is done, and I managed to get a gallon of finish paint spread on the lower barn walls!!! This felt SO good. I was thinking I could move things into place (to get it DONE) and paint around shelves/fridge/cabinets etc… That idea lasted for about45 minutes before I rejected it. Additionally, I have tasked my DH with ripping scrap strips of plywood down to 3.5” to continue a baseboard that my father barely started in the lower barn, before I settle things into their final (possible) places. The space is coming together.
Some social contacts came together today. We’re having dinner with a friend here tomorrow evening. Hopefully visiting with our friends who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis over the weekend, and dinner with our neighbor to the east Friday or Saturday. And there’s the Island’s Artist’s Open Studio Tour this weekend.
