June 2025 Island Trip – Day 10
The boys, DH and the cat 🐈⬛, headed to our mainland property this morning. The cat, of course, knew something was up, and barfed his breakfast 🙄. I am a ninja when it comes to hearing the signs and then grabbing the poor cat and getting him to a solid surface before he blows. Poor thing…
My DH and I had some mild negotiations over a frozen package of Trader Joe’s ‘Bits & Pieces’ lox. The price is so reasonable. In the end, we realized he could do his provisioning at Trader Joe’s, where everything is more reasonable, and leave me with the unused package 😁!
I enjoyed the, literal, second half of the Artists’ Studio Open House tour today. While tempting, I didn’t spend any money. I did run into the former wife of a neighbor up the hill from us! She looked at me intensely, and said, “I know you. What’s your name?” We’ve known each other for 45-years! My mom helped her learn to drive when they moved here. It’s such a sweet connection. She makes beautiful, delicate jewelry from copper.
After returning to the property, I recovered from not eating for 7-hours 😜, put away clean dishes, relaxed, took a shower, put the cat toys/dishes away, tip-towed out of Stella to get pics of some deer that were really close, relaxed s’more, had a nice dinner of leftovers, played backgammon with my Sweetie, and have kept track of the almost full moon rising. And now the frogs are serenading me. 🐸
