June 2025 Island Trip – Day 11

The two plumbing irritations were handled today! Turns out the kitchen faucet was what was causing the low water pressure. It got replaced and pressure was restored. The tenant is thrilled.

The stand pipe in the garden also had to be replaced. Evidently they like to be used, and this one hasn’t had much use. A gate valve also replaced an old fashion valve. I probably shouldn’t be surprised by any of this, but we only put the stand pipe in 5-years ago and it seems like its failure was awfully fast.

I finished priming the lower barn ceiling today. Oiy. I do not have the upper body stamina to work with a roller extension 13’ in the air, but I am also stubborn. And tomorrow I shall hurt! I got 35’ of plywood baseboard my DH ripped for me out of scraps sanded and mostly primed. I’ll finish that tomorrow. Painting really kicked my butt. A 20-minute nap late in the afternoon felt great. Oh, I got a load to laundry done too.
