June 2025 Island Trip – Day 12
I started the day early to nab a Thursday ferry reservation at a reasonable time. Success! Then, some re as expected from yesterday’s painting, I allowed myself one tank of gas with the big line trimmer. It didn’t seem as tho it went as far as usual… That was just fine 😏. Matt showed up to look at Stella’s A/C unit and explained that we needed to get a new capacitor because we can’t tell if the fan motor is toast as it won’t run without a working capacitor. I think I will gain an education in this device… The lower bard baseboard pieces are now primed, as is a thin piece of plywood that will cover up holes in the wall where the water used to enter and exit the building. A trip to town was required in order to get 1/4” ‘fuzzy’ hose so I could irrigate the rhubarb. I also bought myself a heat gun as my friend is going to want his back. The wallpaper removal job continues!
While line trimming I saw that mom’s rose is blooming. Not like it has in years past, but some sweet blooms after being cut off the building. A relief.
My neighbor the the east stopped by for a visit. I’ll have dinner with her tomorrow and help her hem some pants.
Dinner at Tim’s was pleasant. He was in an introspective mood. Good conversations.
The frogs are singing. It’s time for bed.
