Battery
This morning the truck gave me the tell-tale ‘click-click-click’ sound when I tried to start it. 🙄. When trying to start it at the end of May, it red-lined. No clicks. The AAA tech ran and then reran diagnostics after we let the truck run for 10-minutes, and the battery checked out. This time, with the help of my DH doing some research from home, I went to Napa Auto and bought a new battery, after picking up a few groceries. The old one was purchased 7-years ago. It, as my mama used to say about lots of things, including old car/truck batteries, “It doesn’t owe us a thing.” This is the easiest DIY fix a vehicle owner can do for themselves. No third chances for a 7-year old battery.
The biggest thing was finding some place open on the Fourth of July! I thanked them about 17 times 😏.
We got the battery replaced (this took my 6’ hubby standing on a small step ladder both because the truck is ridiculously tall, and battery ridiculously heavy) and she fired right up! I’ve lost all my radio stations… But at least this happened today, and not tomorrow morning when I need to leave for a short trip to the Island to mow, follow up on other chores, and lay eyes on the place.
I am going to see Andy Grammer tomorrow evening at the resort on the Island. Hopefully with Tim, who at 86, in the absence of my DH, is rising to the occasion of protecting me from any riff-raff. Not that there’s riff-raff, but he takes his duty very seriously 💕.
