All the Things…
Feeling a little overwhelmed…
- The electrical estimate came in on MIL’s house. Over $10k plus tax and materials, which doesn’t include demo or reconstruction of things like Sheetrock and paint, which in the workshop, there’s a whole lot of.
- The property manager we’re in discussions with, and have signed their contract, has not replied to our outstanding questions for 2-business days…
- Island tenants are being, duh, weird again. Trying to tell me that the deer are eating mint, of which there is none planted… Because my parents, and me, are way too smart to do that to ourselves. Why? Just why??
- Also on the Island, Mr. tenant offered to pull tansy, a noxious weed that home owners are required to control (I mow the shit out of it). The county will help. I reached out to the county as I’d rather have them spray, BUT there are so many variables. Are the plants drought stressed? Going to seed? I can’t trust what the tenant is going to tell me… And I don’t want to be beholden to him for doing me a favor (Oh, dang it’s good to write this stuff down!!!). I’m going to ask Tim for the name & number of the landscape fellow he recently used and was very happy with. Oooommmmmm. There went a layer of anxiety and stress 😏.
- Getting ready to go to the coast at the end of the week is coming along. I think our extensive checklists are making a little nuts. Today I filled in the day each item needs to happen, where we’d usually just put an “x” when a task is done. I’m also, finally, finishing up a new shower curtain for the trailer (it’s been years in the making 🙄), and thought I’d found the last ingredient I needed… But no, it won’t work. Amazon will deliver what I hope will bring it all together on Wednesday. Pics to follow when installation is complete!
- And finally, smoke season has arrived… I could smell it mid-afternoon. The view of the island (not our Island) was a silhouette. I closed up the house, thankful it was only 70º in and out, and checked my air quality app, Purple Air. It said everything was great. Um, not! Hopefully latency and not some bleed down from the EPA getting gutted. The sunset ought to be outrageous.
