August 2025 Island Trip – Day 6

The day started very early by getting up to nab an early ferry reservation for Sunday. Mission accomplished. But then getting back to sleep was not happening. And then it was almost 11am! We had brunch and ran errands. Then..

We picked fruit! The plum tree is almost cleaned out. The big apple’s dead wood pruning is done, and one of the Akane apple’s has most of its ‘ready’ fruit picked. We’ll move onto the next Akane tomorrow. The third Akane isn’t ready yet. I’ll get back up here in early October and, among other things, see how the apples are doing.

We head to our neighbor’s to the east for dinner this evening. Looking forward to visiting with her.
