Rifling MIL’s Apartment
The apartment was in better shape than it was last time I checked in on things. I tossed all magazines with 2024 dates and expired bulletins from the community, gathered the many scribbled notes and folded paper towels, removed the very dry Brussel spouts from the fridge, saw but (for some unknown reason) didn’t remove the three petrified avocados, and took pictures of medication levels. I was in and out in 14-minutes. There are the usual 8 sudoku books and redundant packages of pens and post-its. Her bed is, as always, perfectly made, and the living room is fairly tidy.
It’s necessary to make these sneak peeks from time to time. I left feeling sad.
