Latex Gloves

I may have commented on this previously… Mom has now been gone for 5-years and almost 6-months. One of the items that came out of her apartment were a number (at least 5) boxes of medical grade latex gloves. The care staff needed them to help mom with incontinence struggles and toileting. There were the associated Depends (adult disposable underwear) and wipes. I was immediately able to find folks who could use the Depends and wipes. But the gloves… Those could come in handy. And they have.

I use/d the gloves to:

  • Paint
  • Clean really obnoxious things, and the toilets
  • Color my hair (the secret is out 😂!)
  • Disinfect Stella from her mouse infestation
  • Handle poisons here and on the Island
  • And more!

I probably still have a solid 3000 latex gloves. A wealth of latex gloves. The sad piece of this, is my mom’s name is on each box. Sometimes, not always, the gloves’ original purpose hits me as I reach for a pair. And then, of course, the reasons for the need. It’s always going to be so very sad, and while I’m thankful for the unexpected riches in disposable gloves, it would have been so much better to have never needed them.
