An Interesting Monday

Monday was fun… I woke up with a heart rate of 148. Palpitations and high BP too. I reached out to my daughter as it came down to 128. She sent me to urgent care when it went back up to 133. They ‘made me’ ride in an ambulance up the hill, two blocks, to the ER 🙄. When the medics arrived at urgent care, they were like clowns in a car. They never stopped coming into the room! And they ‘made me’ ride on a gurney to the pretty red truck. They were competent and kind. Long story and many hours, short, all scary tests are negative, inc heart attack. In the face of this, the doc came around nicely to my thought that Sunday’s Covid vaccine could be the culprit 😳. A very rare side-effect, rarer in middle-aged women. He talked about how the immune system works when presented with an illness or vaccine. I said, “So, I might just be having a strong immune reaction… A sign of an active immune system..?” Exactly, he said with a grin. When the ‘blood clots on the lungs’ CT came back negative, done as some other blood test was slightly elevated, one they always follow up on, but doesn’t always mean there’s a smoking gun, they dumped another liter of fluids in me and kicked me out. My heart rate has been in the mid-70’s since. BP is still a little elevated, but not “call the troops” elevated. I have a follow up with my doc in early December.
