November 2025 Island Trip – Day 4

Today had fewer people involved in it. This meant I had time to:

  • Read a lot.
  • Work on the padded fan covers. The three of them are made, and have only the magnets left to be deployed. With the scraps from this little project I’ve started making,
  • Tie backs for the curtains. We’ve been improvising to date with computer cord ties and what looks like a cotton shoe lace. I have never been one for matchy-matchy home decor, but this fabric happens to look really good with the trim on the curtains! And this way I won’t add small pieces of fabric back to my stash 😏.
  • Finish the gaskets for the electric and water hatches. When I closed up the electric hatch it felt great! Just solid and snug like it should. The water hatch stays open when in use, so I’ll get to check out its fit Monday morning.
  • Walk through the apple trees. The ravens have picked them clean, thank goodness!
  • Put the exterior faucet freeze protector on the house.
  • Take a little nap.
  • Get out the new heat gun and take a little more wall paper off. This is SO satisfying!
  • Have dinner with my neighbor to the east.
Better than a shoe lace!
