Stitches be Gone!

Another positive visit to the foot Doctor! Not only are the stitches out, no more bandages, and I can shower without keeping my foot dry. This will help loosen the line of dried blood along the incision… I’ve iced my foot three times today and put straight vitamin E on the incision. I can even drive! Though the conversation I had with my DH and Doctor (“I’ll drive the truck left footed!” ~ and why, and that I’ve successfully done this in the past) about driving alarmed the Doc, and had my DH assuring him there would be no need for me to drive before I was in a brace (four weeks 🙄). I looked at them and said, “But I need fabric!” (I don’t) It was an entertaining conversation, and now I have an even better understanding about the long-term healing… It’s a year 😳. The internal stitches don’t absorb for that long. I didn’t ask how long I’ll be wearing the brace. Knowing now won’t change the answer four weeks from now…

After what we call ‘a snacky lunch,’ I spent 2.5ish hours in my studio working on the latest group quilt project 💕. Heaven! I was efficient with my movements, got further than I’d hoped, and hobbled back upstairs 2.5 minutes before my DH returned from taking his mama to the doc! This meant I didn’t have to fetch my own ice pack 😏. Oh, I hate crutches… I obviously can’t get the scooter upstairs, but I can, as I dust the stairs with my bum, drag the crutches along with me. 🤣
