Progress!

Progress in a few areas…

I attended two yoga classes this week. My left (rotator cuff) shoulder was more offended by this exercise than my right ankle! Not to say that my ankle wasn’t challenged, and I did ‘adapt’ my moves to accommodate both joints 😏. It felt SO good. And to that end..

My insurance finally approved an MRI of my shoulder. I just want to know what the hell is going on. It will also help guide PT. My PT thinks muscles are frayed. I want to know to what extent.

I’m going to swim tomorrow morning for the first time in a long time! Yeah, I know… shoulder. And it’s not like I’m striving for my 45 laps in 40 minutes. I’ll be happy to do a slow 10 laps and then a sit in the hottub. Foot doc says swimming replaces PT. My monthly membership at the YMCA is 78.75% less than eight PT co-pays a month. Yes, I will work up to swimming 2-3 times a week.

I got into the garden twice this week! Tuesday I did focused work, and today I used the blower to clean up areas, and then waded into the garden beds and made messes, in some of those areas, pruning dead perennials. I’m going to let my DH pick up the piles I scattered in my wake 😉.

I am left feeling very humbled. Thankful for what I’m able to due 7-weeks post-op, and humbled about how my energy is still so low. Healing takes time, and I have to acquiesce to that truth.
