March 2026 Island Trip – Day 3

We had amazing weather today. It snowed, rained and was sunny enough that Stella reached 75º! A fellow came out and salvaged all the old roofing from the upper barn. He’s offered, as a thank you, to take any remaining metal to the transfer station 😳. What a sweetheart! Our general contractor showed up shortly after the salvage guy did. They know each other, of course. The guys continued to work on the gutter drainage.

I communicated a whole lot… raked out some more gravel, got going cleaning my mom’s antique bottles that I want to place back in the (new) windows in the lower barn sans their load of dust and dead bug. I also bought corks for them to keep bugs from using these bottles as their final resting place. After a short run to town for a smattering of things aside from corks, I stopped at our neighbor’s to the east who was having a hard day. Sometimes ya just need to listen.

We enjoyed the cat fishing toys out of his cat cave while we played back gammon, made a killer cauliflower crusted pizza for dinner, and are winding down for the evening. It’s now 38º, but ‘feels like 25º.‘ ❄️ The trailer is sitting at 67º and we’re content. G’nite!
