March 2026 Island Trip – Day 8

It was a usual pack up and leave day except for removing the couch from Stella. The couch that’s bolted to the floor and lays down flat to turn into a bed, when it wants to. In order to get it out of the trailer, the couch had to be flat. Once detached from the floor, it happily moved from its couch to bed state and back again. It almost like the couch was having a ‘hold my beer’ moment, resisting from being maneuvered out of Stella. We won the battle, but it took my DH a moment to recover as he did most of the heavy lifting to get the couch into the back of the truck 😏.

Love that fabric???

The cat sang the song of his people most of the way back. We dropped the couch at our upholsterers (It must be a sign of deep adulthood when you have your very own upholsterer… 🧐) on our way back, chose a beautiful, and of course, very expensive chenille for the new fabric (cheaper than a new couch…), and got home.

We are unpacked and put away. I am ignoring the laundry until tomorrow. Takeout dinner will be a treat, the fire is helping warm up the house, and that’s most of the week that was. T’was good.
