July 2023 Island Trip – Day 1

My DH helped me load his car with my band and Island gear this morning. I can’t pick up the two big powered speakers… In addition to band gear and the usual stuff, I tucked in additional items for the estate sale next month. This may be the fullest his car has ever been! I […]

Photo Overload

I seem to do this every so often. Get overwhelmed by photographs, that is. While pulling out embroidery thread the other day, I also pulled out an identically sized box full of pictures. There’s very little rhyme or reason to what’s in the box, but I am my own victim. I can only guess that […]

RIP

I found out last night that my friend passed Saturday night. His wife wrote the most lovely description of his last number of day being spent on the patio, where he passed, surrounded by the breeze, greenery, family, and bunnies. 💕 I know there’s a kick ass recording studio in his heaven. 🎶

Band Member on Hospice

My friend of 44-years made it home to his family and hospice after sixish weeks in the hospital. He’s been in a tug-of-war with a benign cancer for a bunch of years. Benign means it doesn’t gallop about the body, but it also means, in this case, it quietly stopped responding to chemo and grew […]

June/July 2023 Island Trip – Day 9

I did myself a favor and brought the truck up to Stella to load out. This, after actually being able to get the sketchy microwave into the bed of the truck down at the barns. As with most departures, there was nothing remarkable about packing out, and this time was bit more relaxed than usual. […]

June/July 2023 Island Trip – Day 8

Despite last night’s heat, I slept well. Breakfast was two, of what we call, potato pucks from Trader Joe’s, with a homegrown over easy egg atop each one. Good fuel for the morning! Then I got up to:

June/July 2023 Island Trip – Day 7

After staying up far too late last night, our day got going mid-morning. My DH cut the alder plank, that’s destined to be a bench in mom’s refurbed garden, in two. Our tenant, who LOVES working with wood, wants to take care of finishing the wood and attaching it to the frame. We decided not […]
