When Frogs Fly
Here’s a pic of my class quilt. It’s silly, ridiculous even, fun, whimsical, and just what I wanted it to be! There’s beading, starfish, pennants, necklaces, a crab, ribbon grasses, and more. This piece will likely live in Stella. It’s about 38” by 34”. It was a joy to make, and collaborate on with my […]
June 2025 Island Trip – Day 14
The ferry running late got me to our Mainland home by 4PM. It was an easy departure except for feeling really sad as I left. Unloading the truck went swiftly with my DH’s help, and a shallow nap didn’t accomplish much except to screw up my sleep 😏. So today I’m tired. It’s drizzling enough […]
June 2025 Island Trip – Day 13
The line trimming got done. Additional mowing was accomplished in areas where Miguel doesn’t mow, the driveway was ‘groomed’ with the mower deck lowered, in hopes that the tenants will comply with my edict that they drive on the driveway, rather than next to the driveway… Interesting to note that yesterday I observed the tenant’s […]
June 2025 Island Trip – Day 12
I started the day early to nab a Thursday ferry reservation at a reasonable time. Success! Then, some re as expected from yesterday’s painting, I allowed myself one tank of gas with the big line trimmer. It didn’t seem as tho it went as far as usual… That was just fine 😏. Matt showed up […]
June 2025 Island Trip – Day 11
The two plumbing irritations were handled today! Turns out the kitchen faucet was what was causing the low water pressure. It got replaced and pressure was restored. The tenant is thrilled. The stand pipe in the garden also had to be replaced. Evidently they like to be used, and this one hasn’t had much use. […]
June 2025 Island Trip – Day 10
The boys, DH and the cat 🐈⬛, headed to our mainland property this morning. The cat, of course, knew something was up, and barfed his breakfast 🙄. I am a ninja when it comes to hearing the signs and then grabbing the poor cat and getting him to a solid surface before he blows. Poor […]
June 2025 Island Trip – Day 9
After a hearty breakfast we set off on the Island Artists’ Open Studio Tour. Like last year, it was incredibly inspiring. Around 2pm we paused for take-out sushi, returned to the property for lunch, and then I headed out to take in three more studios. My DH stayed to take care of list items.. Things […]
June 2025 Island Trip – Day 8
Finishing up in the garden with what the push mower could do was a nice milestone. That mower is put away for this trip. The line trimmer refused to start. I RTFM’d (Read the fucking manual), made sure I had the choke set correctly, addressed the spark plug to no avail, asked my DH to […]
