Memorial at the Beach – Days Three & Four


Mom continues to do pretty good. She is enjoying all the social contact. When I’m near enough to her to overhear what she’s saying, it’s challenging for me to continue with my own conversations as I detect the continued ‘rampant spread of misinformation.’ I am learning to let go of the need to make sure she is relaying her own history correctly. It doesn’t matter.
On Thursday night Mom scared all of us by standing up at campfire, with the intent to stir the fire, and stumbling towards the raised fire bed. She was undeterred, and after straightening up, reached for the tongs, which fell to the ground with a clatter. At this point several of us encouraged her to sit down. She grumpily complied.
